Do One Thing. We are a grain of sand and a speck of earth and can't possibly make a difference. A million grains of sand make a castle. A million specks of earth make a garden. If each of us resolves to Do One Thing we CAN make a difference. The Do One Thing revolution encourages everyone to resolve to make at least one change, however small, which will help the environment.
Here are some examples:
You may resolve to:
- Turn off your computer every night
- Fill the kettle with only as much water as you need
- Start a vegetable patch
- Take public transport instead of the car once a week
- Stop using plastic bags for shopping
- Check before you leave the house that all the lights are turned off
- Buy only Fair Trade coffee and tea
- Go to work by bicycle
- Stop eating fast food
There are dozens of other possibilities.
We ask you to think about your routine and find one change which you feel comfortable making for the sake of the environment. Do One Thing. You can make it as easy or as hard as you like. Then, please, let us know, let your friends, your family and your work colleagues know and together we will build that castle and make that garden.
